Three months after having finished shooting my latest documentary in India, a solid rough cut now sits on the timeline. Repeatedly going over my various experiences there was at first difficult, especially since many of those experiences were characterized by extreme stress and emotional confusion. But then the process slowly became wonderful as relationships between people and events started becoming more clear. The primary focus is ritual, from our mundane daily rituals to the twelve year cyclical ritual bathing at the Kumbh Mela. What do these rituals mean to their increasingly cross-cultural observers and performers?
